Why this work exists
Everything I've built over the last eight years — the foundation, the legislation, the books, the license — exists for one reason. So that your family doesn't have to figure this out alone. And so that what happened to mine doesn't happen to yours.

Why this lane exists
When NIL passed in 2021, the money got real fast. But the guidance did not follow. Families were sitting across tables from agents, brands, and universities with no one in their corner — signing contracts they did not understand, missing tax obligations they did not know existed, and carrying life insurance coverage from their school that would not cover a month of expenses.
I had spent years working on player safety, parental advocacy, and legislation. I understood the landscape. But speaking about preparation was not the same as helping families actually build it. So I became a licensed agent — not to sell policies, but to fill a gap that nobody else was filling.
McNair Legacy Solutions is the only firm I know of built specifically at the intersection of NIL education, athlete protection, and family wealth planning — by someone who has lived inside this world for eight years, not someone who saw an opportunity after the money arrived.
Where this work comes from
My son Jordan was a student-athlete. He was full of life, full of promise — the kind of kid who made every room better just by walking into it.

Marty & Jordan — University of Maryland campus
In 2018, Jordan died from a preventable heat-related injury during a college football practice. He was 19 years old.
When you lose a child, you ask yourself: What else could I have done? What conversations didn't we have? What was left unprotected?
Those questions never go away. But they led me somewhere. Into a foundation. Into books. Into legislation. And eventually into a license — because I needed to be able to sit across from a family and actually do something, not just talk about what should be done.
I don't do this work because it's a good business opportunity. I do it because I know what it feels like when the protections aren't in place. And I refuse to let another family find out the hard way.
The Jordan McNair Safe and Fair Play Act is Maryland state law. Jordan's name protects athletes he never got to meet. That's the only legacy that matters.
"Legislation gives athletes the right to earn. But it cannot build your family's financial foundation for you. That is what we are here for."
— Marty McNair
What this means for your family
Most people who entered this space did so after NIL created a market. I was here before the market existed — working on player safety, writing legislation, and educating families about what the collegiate system does and does not provide.
When I sit down with your family, I am not running through a product menu. I am listening for the gaps — the things you do not know to ask about, the protections you assumed were in place, the income that is moving without a structure underneath it.
That is the work. That has always been the work. McNair Legacy Solutions is just the vehicle that lets me do more of it.
